Put your $$$ on the line!

Put your $$$ on the line!

Are you still banking at the brick and mortar place on the corner?  Maybe you do it because it's close to your home or office and you know you can always grab cash without paying a "convenience" fee?  I have spent tons of time and effort trying to avoid those completely insane fees they charge us.  Are they kidding or do they seriously think that we will continue to pay them more and more money just to get to our own cash???

Move your money online before you pay another dollar to the ATM.  Not only will online banks reimburse you for ALL fees that other institutions charge they will pay you interest.  Even on your checking account.  Stop paying and start earning!   Their motive for all this awesomeness is that they want you to eventually use their other services like brokerage accounts, CDs, blah blah blah but you never have to and there's no pressure.  I moved over to Schwab earlier this year and it was a very easy process.  Right away they sent me a debit card and free checks (another shocker) and I started earning interest.  When I went to Vegas in March I used a Casino ATM which charged a $5 fee.  It was truly a great feeling to look at that obnoxious notice and know that I didn't have to pay it.  No guilt!!!  At the end of my month, Schwab credited my account with the amount of all fees I'd incurred - even the insane $5 fee from Vegas.  I really feel like they are paying me to have money. It's a nice switch.
